anyone want to deal with the truth here?
I doubt it
I wonder if the city lawyers will say - policy has been in effect for
10 years - there were no problems in 10 years - 10 years is plenty of
time for FFs to transfer to other agencies if they felt the policy was
horrendous - everyone on the FD knew that the policy was in effect and
they could have adjusted their firefighting tactics - London FD cut
many of their companies with no problems (until Grenfell Towers -
which was a big mega problem) - etc
how much overtime was involved?
1. the politicians and the chief decides how much money the FD gets
and how it is spent - the union can only protest - can you imagine
what would happen if the union ran the FD?
2. nothing ever changes - FDs today are the same as they were 150
years ago - just a little smaller maybe per capita - there are still
high numbers of children killed every year - there are citys reduced
to ashes - nothing ever changes - no one gives a rats ass - as long as
the paychecks keep flowing
3. what if FD budgets were based on incentives? if the fd can cut fire
loses by 50% - then 50% of the saved money will go to FD raises - THAT
WOULD BE INTERESTING
