we had no idea these existed
dont think they have any vehicles or staff - just these 15 guys - who
are probably local fire chiefs - and maybe they have radios on the
state forestry radio channels or the state fire mutual aid channels
just to be clear - the Connecticut lineup is probably this -
state forestry - 10 guys and 10 trucks - maybe can use natl guard
helios to drop water on fires also - on call hand crew - can maybe
call Boise for air tankers if situation is critical
local fire departments - maybe 300 in connecticut with 500 city
pumpers and 50 brush trucks (TY6 maybe) plus 100 water tenders - very
few of these are 4X4 - probably 99% of all roads in the state are
paved - big trucks can probably be driven to within 1/4 mile of all
forested areas in the state - probably very few red carded
firefighters - maybe 50
