Goodyear AZ 1958 - had 'in home' fire phones

https://www.goodyearaz.gov/government/departments/fire/history

chiefs were jealous apparently over $20 per year

'fire phones' is an old concept - the public would make a telephone
call to a certain phone number - maybe 4 to 7 digits - emergency 'red
phones' would then ring in multiple locations - phone call would be
answered by a fire department member - information would be taken -
probably someone on the FD would hit a button an sound a siren - or
maybe send a radio message - or make all of the FD fire phones ring -
this was long before pushbutton / dtmf phone dialing - and long before
cell phones - and around the time that 'home alert' radio receivers
(tone activated) were making their appearance across the USA
