https://www.townofparadise.com/fire - paradise fd is led by a cal fire battalion chief who reports to a cal fire division chief who reports to a Cal Fire Unit Chief
Pretty sure that the Cal Fire battalion chief also has oversight of the Cal Fire wildfire units in the Paradise area - he is a "blended" chief you might say - a guy in a blender even
We suspect that the 2 "Paradise FD" stations are owned by the Town of Paradise. The structural fire engines are also probably owned by the Town of Paradise. All or most of the firefighters that staff those structural fire units are Cal Fire employees.
Any Cal Fire engines in the area are combined structural / wildfire engines. Any USFS engines in the area are identical in size and shape to the Cal Fire engines - but the USFS engines are not set up for structural firefighting afaik. (ie they dont have PPE SCBA large hose etc)
Does 'Paradise FD' really exist? would be willing to bet that they follow Cal Fire SOPs. But the Paradise Town Council might have input into those SOPs. Who does the 'Paradise FD' try to save first - the people or the buildings or the trees?
This list of CA FDs does show a Paradise FD as a separate entity. However it also shows Paradise FPD near Bishop as a "FD" - but they might not have any trucks.
We need to check and see if Paradise FD has a FDID number
