The department provides contract fire protection to the Town of
Mendon, several large businesses in Rutland Town and has a contract
with the State of Vermont for Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF)
services at the Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport.
This year we responded to an aircraft landing with a landing gear
issue, and later in the year responded to a gear up belly landing
incident. Luckily no one was injured.
