heard via broadcastify
cal fire admin report at 1127 am et - approx 3 BC on duty - 6 engines
staffed - no other units on duty from cal fire - pretty sure that
message went out once on the county red net and then once on the meu
local net / cal fire channel
typical fire or ems dispatches - 3 quick beeps - agency and chief
problem - pager tone sets - 1 sec tone each - 2 tones per set - then
maybe 3 beeps again - then 'agency - then address - then units - then
incident - command red - calcord tactical - timeout' - (maybe units
before address actually)
units sign on verbally when responding - for example - "Howard Forest,
Chief 5400 responding"
have heard calls go out for Fort Bragg Ambulance and Ukiah Fire
have not heard any of those 4 digi note pager signals - those must be
for the cal fire stations - have not heard cal fire go to any calls
today yet
\
calcord is 156.075 simplex or 156.045 simplex - its a statewide
channel - no base stations on that feq afaik
gonna guess that the 6 cal fire engines are staffed by 2 cal fire
employees each - and they are located at 6 different cal fire stations
- probably the cal fire stations that have 2 rngines in the summer vs
the cal fire stations that just have 1 engine in the summer
so cal fire functions as a shadow FD essentially in the winter
the only other career FD employees on duty in the county are probably
at ukiah and fort bragg - maybe willits also - all of the other 50
fire stations are unmanned - and the smaller cal fire stations might
not have any trucks inside for the winter - not sure about that - any
usfs fire stations are probably vacant and boarded up for th winter
-except the Ranger District HQs which might have 1 engine and 1 guy on
duty weekdays - but those guys basically write plans all winter long
afaik
