If John Oliver really gave a shit about EMS in the USA - the piece
would be titled "911 Is A Fucking Joke" - and then he would have
presented a 1 minute summary instead of yapping about stupid sirens -
and a transcript would be provided

I figure the odds are 99% that John Oliver's bottom line here is
"EMT's have to be paid more". What if EMTs got paid $1M per year. How
many extra lives would that save? ZERO. What if the number of EMTs was
doubled? How many extra lives would be saved? 5,000? 50,000? What if
all EMTs were upgraded to paramedics? How many lives would that save?
100,000? What if boundary drops were done nationwide? What if every
ambulance got GPS and tracking? What if every ambulance got Opticom?
What if every high school student was given 30 hours of first aid
training? and we could go on and on and on and on and on and on
