Chelsea City Council has voted to merge E-911 dispatch services with
Metro North RECC, which controls Winthrop and Revere 911. Anticipated
crossover date is 7/1/2027. A new communications center will be
constructed at the former McKinley School in Revere.

such a waste of money - at this point - the entire state can be easily
covered by 1 dispatch center
and when the state trs gets fixed up and 'first net' finally delivers
something useful - the radio comms will be seamless statewide
iirc there was a study 10 years ago that said they could free up 100
to 200 dispatchers for street duty if they redid the 911 centers
australia and new zealand have been running megadispatch systems for
at least 30 or 40 years now
but hey - lets blame the chinese and mexicans and now canadians
