MS farmers hit hard

NPR Here and Now at 120 pm edt on wbur boston

npr reporter went up in plane in vicksburg mississippi area

Mississippi River has been full for 4 months or 4 weeks whatever -
this prevents the Corp of Engineers from opening a gate that will let
water flow from farmers fields into Miss River

farms on the Lousiana side are dry because they have pumps - MS farms
are flooded because EPA vetoed pumps in 2008 on environmental grounds

will take MS farms 6 weeks to dry out - wont be able to plant anything
this year - crop insurance will cover 60% of loss for 1 farmer

farm chemicals come from China - ??????
