automatic dual autopilot. This was a manual approach and landing in
very bad visibility and strong winds. Following the ILS. CAT III ILS
can not be done in windy weather is, even if the visibility is zero,
the approach is manual, in fact, almost every landing is manual, some
airlines fly manually from 1000ft AGL, some disconnect autopilot at
1000ft RA, some fly manually from the FAF, some fly the approach
manually from the moment you establish on the localizer… you get my
point? Only in 0 wind + zero vis it's automatic, every other scenario
is manual.

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. —
Dozens of patients were evacuated early Monday at a MetroWest hospital
after an issue with the facility's heating and water supply.
More than 70 patients were transported via ambulance from UMass
Memorial Medical Center – Marlborough after a valve break Sunday in
the basement caused flooding that affected the boiler system and
reduced heat to multiple areas of the hospital, according to a
statement from UMass.

Ambulance teams from across the area helped move patients to other
UMass Memorial Health hospitals.
"Teams quickly developed a plan to begin placing and transporting more
than 70 patients via ambulance quickly and safely. Patients' families
were notified of where and when patients would be moved. Patient
safety remained a top priority throughout the transfer process," the
hospital said in a statement. "The valve issue has been resolved, all
water removed from the basement, and mitigation efforts continue."
The Marlborough campus remains open to walk-in emergency patients, the
hospital said. Patients being admitted via the Marlborough Emergency
Department will then be transferred to another facility. Patients may
also seek care at other local emergency departments.

Today, meeting a new baby is as easy as tapping FaceTime. In 1994, it
took something a little more futuristic, at least for the time.
This archive clip from 1994 captures Lancaster General Hospital in
Pennsylvania offering new mothers a chance to introduce their newborns
using one of the first video phones. The grainy image, slight delay
and boxy camera didn't matter. What mattered was connection.

Kathy Law had just welcomed her third child, a baby boy named Adam.
Instead of waiting for photos in the mail or a long-distance phone
call, Law was able to show her sister in Seattle the newest member of
the family in real time. They could see each other, talk and even
watch baby Adam "wave" goodbye.
By today's standards, the video quality looks primitive compared to
crystal-clear smartphones and instant video calls. But in 1994, this
was cutting-edge tech doing exactly what technology still aims to do:
bring people closer.
Sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words — even if it's a
little blurry.

BOSTON —
Multiple manhole fires in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood caused street
closures and evacuations on Tuesday night.
Dispatcher received a radio call at 5:21 p.m. for a report of a
manhole fire at the intersection of Dartmouth and Newbury streets.

Officials determined there were six manhole fires in the area. There
were no reports of any injuries.
Four buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

Fire officials said the issue appears to be electrical, and the
manholes are equipped with explosion-safe covers that protect them
from becoming projectiles.
Witnesses reported hearing loud bangs, followed by smoke.
"I was focused on all of the flashing lights, probably in a radius of
about five blocks of flashing lights," said Amy Brodsky, whose car was
parked near the manhole.
The incident remains under investigation.
An Eversource spokesperson said a "limited number" of customers are
without power as of Wednesday morning.

followed by Minnesota and California.
Four athletes have an international hometown listed on Team USA's
roster, which includes an athlete's current place of residence or
birth town as "hometown."

The 232-member team this year is the country's largest ever for a
Winter Olympics.
Still, fewer U.S. athletes compete in the Winter Games than in the
Summer. About 600 athletes represented red, white and blue in the 2024
Paris Summer Olympics.
Eighteen states don't have any athletes competing. Six states —
Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Montana and North Dakota — and
Washington, D.C., have just a sole representative.
These numbers do not include athletes competing in the Paralympic
Games, which will begin in March. It also does not include athletes
who have U.S. citizenship but are competing for other countries.
This year's athletes are competing in 16 different sports, including
newly introduced ski mountaineering.
The majority of U.S. athletes — 75 — are competing in various ski
events, including freestyle skiing, alpine skiing, cross-country
skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, and ski mountaineering. Eight
additional athletes are competing in the biathlon, which combines
skiing and target shooting.
