Build an Emergency Kit - State of Mass - info / checklist - 3 days

Build an Emergency Kit https://www.mass.gov/info-details/build-an-emergency-kit keep in mind - the government does NOT have any emergency supplies of food or water - there are no stocked underground shelters anymore - if the cellphones go down; there is no alerting system - none of the government agencies ever have real disaster drills - nor does private industry - except for maybe the CEOs - (if they cant get to Hanscom Field or Norwood Airport - they are as screwed as everyone else) just saying correct me if I am wrong - dont think I am

Charlie Kirk's assassination tests Trump's ability to help a nation heal

Charlie Kirk's assassination tests Trump's ability to help a nation heal

With the killer still at large and a manhunt underway, Trump, in his video response, laid blame on familiar foils. In a message from the Oval Office on Wednesday, he singled out the “radical left” and made no mention of cases in which Democratic elected officials in Minnesota and Pennsylvania were targets of violent attacks.

dolly parton dead at 80

if you have cancer - check your vitamin d level immediately - per dr john campbell on yt - as we have posted many times before

NIFC is at Preparedness Level 5

NIFC is at Preparedness Level 5

what does this mean actually?

seems to me that at Prep Level 5 - they activate coordinating teams at
the GACCs (regional dispatch centers) - they set the prioritys for
assigning resources to fires

the Prep Level 5 guidelines also might set certain special 'draw down'
levels on a regional basis - instead of requiring a minimum of 1 helo
at each Natl Forest in Calif - they might require 6 helos to cover ALL
of the Natl Forests in Calif - same goes for airtankers and lead
planes and hand crews and engines etc

what does this mean in the real world? lets look at California fire
helos - there might be 30 exclusive use fire helos for the feds in
Calif this year - that means that 30 helos are funded to be staffed
each day during the peak of fire season - maybe the draw down level is
6 helos when at Prep Level 5 - if all 30 EU helos are in use, then the
GACC has to come up with 6 more helos from somewhere - so they call
Boise and request 6 helos - Boise can then activate some 'call when
needed helos" - if no CWN are available - they can try calling the
military or national guard or Canada

We can see that Prep Level 5 basically means that there is a certain
level of "skeleton" crews available at all times in case additional
fires break out - but obviously response times will not be as fast as
at Level 1 thru Level ?4?

Prep Levels 1 thru 5 all have their own requirements / goals - you can
dig up the info by reading thru the mobilization plans

We dont know where they come up with the drawdown levels - but they
are probably based on 100 years of field experience and some real
world knowledge - I could write a draw down level requirement of 50
helos for California - but if there is 0% chance of getting 50 helos -
then it probably is useless to write it down

Barnstead NH had a building fire call - 19 Aug 2026 2114 pm

Barnstead NH had a building fire call - 19 Aug 2026 2114 pm

2114 PM - report of smoke from neighbors house with explosions heard

six 2 tone sets sent - 159.90

Barnstead Fire additional call + 9 Eng 3 + 25 Eng 4 + Alton 1 Eng 2 +
Pittsfield Eng 1 + Pittsfield Amb

apparently the (inhouse) firefighters at the Barnstead fire station
were busy responding to a earlier EMS call - might have been a
stabbing call iirc - so the offduty and / or call members of Barnstead
had to go to their station to get their rigs on the road

units signing on were told "Channel 5" by the dispatcher - but most of
the response comms seemed to be on Channel 1 (159.90) - just the
dispatcher was heard on 159.90 at my location over the air

2121 - 6 Eng 1 responding with driver only

2121 - 6 Portable 9 at scene checking - check the call

2123 - caller will come out

2125 - 6 C11 at scene with electrical odor

2127 - 6E1 at scene

2133 - 6 Tower 1 responding

2135 - 9E3 + 25E4 at scene - 6 Tanker 1 responding

2136 - 1 Eng 2 at scene

2140 - 6 tanker 1 at scene

2142 - 25 C1 at scene

====================

lets review - 9 minutes until first unit reached scene - that was a
portable radio unit only

7 minutes for Barnstead Eng 1 to roll with just 1 person

13 minutes for 5 Eng 1 to arrive

19 minutes to get Tower 1 on the road

21 minutes for 9 E3 and 25 E4 to arrive - they might have had 2 people
each or 3 or 4

the fire location was apparently 6 minutes from the Barnstead fire station

9E3 might have been staffed at the station - not sure about 25E4

bottom line - when the barnstead ambulance goes out on a call - it
will take 7 to 21 minutes to get the fire trucks rolling

=======================

this is the reality of fire services in New Hampshire in 2026

there might be a 50/50 chance that ALL of these fire units responded
with just 1 person on board - thats what happened at the Searsmont
Maine fire more or less

not sure how these agencies are maintaining their ISO ratings below a Class 10

===========================

delete - delete - delete - stand by and stand by

proposed new FCC rule

lets get the FCC to write a new rule any agency that has Vtac or Utac or Itac radio channels in their radios must assure that their county seat has at least 1 base station on a nationwide interop channel - preferably EMP protected with backup power supply and high elevation - one HT duck taped to the top of a 75 foot aerial ladder does qualify
