I can do all of my shopping, banking, researching and entertaining via the Internet - have even had doctors appointments in my apartment we could grow crops here also - in theory - could raise animals but would be noisy and smelly - actually - would not be surprised if someone has bred animals in here - lord knows the mice and bed bugs have no problem replicating at times could we store enough food to last 1 year? maybe the building across the street at 30 Mystic St just got a geothermal system - not sure if it is running yet - they might have perpetual energy there - between sunlight and geothermal and wind and rainfall - they could have perpetual self sufficiency - right? how about - we connect the toilet lines to a generator - everytime someone flushes - the generator runs a water pump that flow water to a tank on the roof - then we have fire protection from the roof down - and we have stored potential energy to run a generator that could give electricity on demand 24/7 - right?
