I have to go back and review my notes on this - this was always a very
strange situation
I think the general idea from the 1960s was - USFS protects federal
lands - BLM protects BLM lands - State Forestry protects state lands
and private lands - at some point County Fire started a volunteer
structural station - and at some point State Forestry was providing
structural fire protection
Kyle Canyon and Lee Canyon are the 2 primary areas
Kyle Canyon had a NDF station + a USFS station (summers) + a county
volunteer station
Lee Canyon had a NDF station (summers) and maybe a usfs station (summers)
(I am pretty sure that the county vol station has been merged into the
Mt Charleston Fire District now)
