might have been a 2 alarm brush fire - or maybe 1 alarm - 10 or 20
pumpers in total plus aircraft and hand crews and dozers and helos
note the crazy terrain and the swirling winds going in all directions
1 S2 drop and 4 scooper drops - cant see the scoopers in the smoke
anf crew 63 in the white pickup trucks
comment - Is there anything at all if value on that hillside? It
honestly looks like it needs to burn. Not sure about the air asset war
that Cal fire employs on a brush fire such as this. $$$$$$$$$$$
comments - It is now 1:35 am on Sunday morning. There is a Dozer line
around the fire on both sides of the highway. The night flying fire
copters are working numerous spot fires also outside the line.
Hopefully by daylight this fire can be placed in the "Mop up and
patrol" category.
Was ANF H-531 (night flying) used?
yes as was LACoFD Copters 14 and 17.
