June 2020 - they took the 1,000 paid guys from the 'volunteer' FD and
put them in the "paid" FD
now they have - Fire Rescue Victoria / FRV with 3,500 paid
firefighters - and - Country Fire Authority / CFA with 10 paid
firefighters and 55,000 volunteers
they also put both agencies on the same radio systems in 2021
in Australia - the primary emergency telephone number is 000 for
police, fire, ambulance and everything else pretty much
so maybe someday they will merge everyone into one super safety outfit
- because - like we just said - there is ONE and only ONE emergency
telephone number for Australia - so why not just have 1 agency? cant
be done? why not? how come there is just 1 telephone number? how did
that happen?
the paid fire unions had their hands all over this 2020 shakeup - we
dont see any major changes in the melbourne area - maybe some guys are
wearing new uniforms - but overall - staffing and equipment dont seem
to have changed very much
they seem to have full boundary drops between the FRV and CFA areas -
so they pretty much o[erate 99% as 1 combined FD
