since cheap chinese two way portable radios (CCR) only cost $30 - and
are easily obtained and programmed and charged and operated - lets
take advantage of that for public safety
lets require every block captain to have a CCR - lets program it for
154.54 - pl 156.7
lets require every public safety radio to have 154.54 as Channel 2
lets require every public safety radio to have 453.2125 R as Channel 1
- this will be monitored by NORAD / space fart command / whoever and
used for EAS - EWS - whatever - also used for disaster comms
there is requirements 1 and 2
requirement 3 is for a radio channel that can be heard by every public
safety radio in a given neighborhood - everywhere in the neighborhood
- in every ravine and subway and basement and cave - this will be the
primary dispatch and operations channel for the neighborhood - this
channel can be used to receive 911 calls also - via a patch to the 911
infrastructure and/or via 911 dispatchers
requirement 4 is for every public safety radio to have a plethora of
command and tactical and onscene radio channels - with the capability
to talk nationwide if required (via infrastructure or satellites or
whatever)
With these 4 requirements we have devised a nationwide public safety
radio system that can be scaled up to handle any size situation
Requirement 5 could be for 'hands free' channel selection - in fact -
remote channel allocation might be best - let the dispatchers put
various radios on various channels / talkgroups as they deem necessary
Requirement 6 could be to require that all public safety radios have
priority on all cellular / railroad / business / land mobile radio
systems - ALL OF THEM - why have 20 different radios systems with 1
tower each in Podunk County? (maybe this is not a huge issue - maybe
Podunk County allows all 20 systems to place transmitters on their 1
radio tower already)
