About the Los Angeles highrise fire

this is the radio traffic that I should have heard

fire showing from approx 5th floor NW corner

first engine to fire floor and feed standpipe (SOP)

first ladder - split crew - grab guy and do primary on fire floor (SOP mostly)

2nd engine - split crew - run line over first ladder

fire appears to be on 5th floor looking from outside

2nd ladder take 2nd best position (maybe preplanned based on access
possibilities)

3rd engine take line to floor above fire

first engine is on 5th floor with high heat and heavy smoke at Apt 511
- apartment door is closed

first ladder and 2nd engine hit fire from outside

fire in knocked down - first engine can now enter fire apt

one big problem - with 20 companies arriving all at the same time on a
fractured first alarm - no one knows who is first due, 2nd due, etc -
but it actually sounded like they had that handled - I think I heard
one unit saying they were going to do fire atttack

I suppose the bottom line is - have a SOP - make alterations to SOP
based on unusual circumstances
