Kia ora Dr Campbell - would love to hear your analysis or your
understanding of projected consequence for New Zealand specifically.
As we have been isolated (geographically and deliberately) from much
of the world for most of the past 18 months, it seems a bit premature
to rely on our limited data in comparison to other larger populations
and larger geographical areas (Aussie, Canada, UK, USA etc). As we
continue to have "restricted" borders, is there a greater chance of
massive waves of infection coming to us once we 'open to the rest of
the world'? Without the virus making its way substantially thru the
population at present - what could be the risks or potential impact of
that going forward?
@Iagree Having lived in NZ for several years, I am distressed at the
draconian measures your govt has undertaken at the expense of civil
liberties. I believe NZ will eventually get hit and hit hard, with no
acquired herd immunity other than a vaccine of dubious efficacy. That
is, unless you choose to remain hermetically sealed for eternity.
