- not sure if that archive failed or not - first alarm tape from the
Siskiyou County Sheriff and Fire feed at

- first alarm tape - as above

https://weedca.govoffice3.com/fire?&pri=0 - weed FD has FT chief and
FT asst chief + vols - they have at least 1 ty 1 engine

- zerg90 map for siskiyou county

the "weed station" heard on the radio tape reporting the fire is
probably the cal fire station in weed - they were maybe on the cal
fire radio channel which might be different than the county fire radio
channel - or it might be the same

we are not sure what the actual staffing is in the area - the mill
might have its own fire truck but we have no proof of that

staffing might have been - 2 ty3 engines at weed cal fire station with
3 or 4 people on each truck - weed fd maybe had 2 people at the
station backed up by on call staff - mt shasta is 10 miles away - all
other FDs in area are probably volunteer (with people working at the
mill no doubt) - there are probably some usfs engines in the area plus
probably 1 cal fire helo and 2 cal fire S2 airtankers in siskiyou
county - with all other aerial units coming from outside the county

if the fire started at 1250 pm local - and the vlats and lats did not
arrive until 315 pm - then it took them 2 hours and 20 minutes to
arrive - but the S2s were there before them - maybe 8 of them

I wonder if there was an issue here of federal aircraft (LATs and
VLATs) working on a local (cal fire) fire? purportedly all dispatch in
california is based on 'closest unit'
