huntsville area fire radio traffic

heard today via openmhz dot com

TG 30125 - Huntsville FD - "Fire 1" TG - has all radio traffic pretty
much - labelled simply as "Fire Dispatch" at openmhz

they dont dispatch calls on Fire 1 but all units sign on when going to
a call - they might actually dispatch via a different TG or TGs or via
pagers or MDTs or whatever

"Huntsville Fire" is the dispatchers ID

TG 30427 is labeled as Fire Dispatch 2 - "Madison Fire" is heard on this TG

all comms are loud and clear typically

Huntsville units heard include - Engine 8 - Rescue 2 - Engine 1 A -
Engine 12 - Heavy (Rescue) - Engine 1 B

Madison Fire paged out a "all stations" bld fire call in the Station 3
area - 2 tone pager set plus warble - all units signed on and called
off at scene - all comms were on the Fire Dispatch 2 TG - units heard
were - Eng 3 - Squad 3 - Batt 1 - Eng 4 - Squad 4 - Ladder 1 - Squad 1
- Squad 2 - lightning struck a house with odor of smoke but nothing
visible - one hydrant location was given - 1 cross street was given -
iirc it was XXX Trace cross of XXX Trace - both streets were called
"Trace"s - dispatcher IDs as "Madison" - they found no fire and Batt 1
placed all units "back in service"

Madison Eng 4 and Squad 4 went to a "wreck with injuries"

Madison 507 was the OIC on Madison Squad 3 at a medical call

Huntsville FD uses some 10 codes - 10-4 = roger - 10-19 = cancel -
10-97 is at scene - 10-98 is returning to station - maybe

Huntsville had a duct detector activation at Huntsville Hospital -
response was Eng 1A + Eng 1 B + Ladder 2 + Heavy (Rescue) - all comms
was on the main channel

Huntsville had a bld fire call - Batt 206 + Eng 11 + Eng 12 + Ladder
12 responded iirc - maybe Eng 3 was sent extro / later

aalso heard - Eng 7 went alone to a MVA - driver left scene and drove
to walmart - took 2 tries to find him

time is off by one hour on the archives - you can tell because the
time is given during some of the radio messages

805 AM local - Huntsville Fire did a radio test - the following units
were called and answered - E1A E1B Heavy1 E2 L2 R2 E3 E4 E5a E5b E6 L6
Rescue6 E7 E8 Ldr8 Res8 E9 E10 E11 Ldr11 Eng12 Ldr12 Rescue12 E14 E15
Hazmat15 SR15 E16 E17 E18 L18 E19 - called at end was - reserve Ladder
