In 1935 the AFD had a radio system installed from the fire
headquarters to all stations.

? 1942 ? -. Two-way radios were installed on two ladder trucks and a
radio pick up station was installed at the top of Wooster Avenue in
Sherbondy Hill which overlooked Summit Lake.

In 1988 radios finally became widely used throughout the AFD and all
of the channels were introduced.
