dont quote me on this but bfd apparently BFD works this way -
calltaker receives info and inputs the info into the CAD - the CAD
recommends the units to send - decision dispatcher OKs the
recommendation and launches/sends the call - call goes via teleprinter
to station or via MDTs in station - plus maybe via loudspeakers and
lights in stations - call pops up on radio dispatchers screen - radio
dispatcher transmits the box / beeps the box via Channel 1 - any units
'on the air' are given the call via Ch 1 - at some point the call
also goes out via 453.65 with computerized voice - (maybe approx at
the same time that the decision dispatcher launches the box)
bottom line - units are alerted by 2 or 3 pathways for every call -
(assuming that they scan or monitor 453.65 when away from the station
/ 'on the air')
