at approx 857 PM - on the Arlington County TRS - on TG 183 which is
Fort Myers FD - E161 Bravo told "Fort Myers" that they were responding
to the Pentagon or from the Pentagon - they wanted someone advised
that they were enroute - maybe they wanted the Pentagon PD to open a
gate and allow them to grab the crash truck at the Pentagon - Batt 46
came on the air and talked to Eng 161 B - he told them to report to a
certain location - 14th Street Bridge was mentioned - DC had told them
to send units there - Batt 46 asked E161B if they had been dispatched
by Arlington - E161B said no - Asst Chr 46 had told them to respond
========================
bottom line - initial dispatch for DCA FD (at 849pm) was 1 eng + 1 amb
+ 2 foam trucks + 1 fireboat - plus whatever DCFD sent
iirc DCFD initially just sent 1 fireboat - because DCPD Marine Unit
got the crash phone alert
question - where did the tape of the crash net comms come from?
11 minutes later - at 9 pm - Alexandria FD sent 5 engines (maybe all
ALS engines) + 4 medic units (ALS ambulances)
12 minutes later - at 901pm - Arlington County FD sent 2 medic engines
+ 2 military engines + 5 medic ambulances + 1 EMS supervisor
it is possible that prince georges county and fairfax county also sent
units to the scene early in the ballgame - need to dig deeper into
that - pretty sure that pg county got called for their fireboat -
unknown if any engines and ambulances were sent
we need to dig up that big dcfd dispatch also - they sent approx 5
engines and 2 ladders and 2 heavy rescues and maybe 3 ambulances and 2
fireboats
seems that dcfd fireboat 3 was first onscene at 2053 hr or 2055 hr -
cant read my own nore - one of the airport fireboats arrived 1 minute
later
pretty sure that everyone died nearly instantly or within 1 minute -
so there was not much that anyone could do anyhow
we have many major airports near bodies of water in the usa - boston -
kennedy nyc - laguardia nyc - lax - philadelphia - maybe jacksonville
- minneapolis is near a river iirc - san francisco - maybe all these
arff units need to have rescue submarines on duty 24/7
