updated the zerg90 map for washington County TX
apparently the hospital in brenham is a level 3 or level 4 trauma
center - anyone who needs emergency surgery needs to be flown out of
town - the county pays $3M per year to have a medevac helo staffed
24/7 in the county - apparently they charge $10K per flight - and
medicare and insurance companys cough up the money
but Brenham has a couple of nursing homes and imaging centers and
urgent care centers plus a full time fire station and 2 fulltime
ambulance stations - plus a walmart and more - just thinking that
there probably is some way to afford a trauma surgeon or 2 - in fact -
instead of paying $3M per year for the helo and crew - they could
probably pay for 3 or 4 people 24/7 to staff an OR
which would you rather have in your county? - an OR staffed 24/7 or a
medevac helo?
how about putting the surgeon in a mobile operating room? when there
is a wreck 10 miles north of Brenham - send the mobile operating room
instead of the helo
