keep in mind - in the 1990s approx - uhf radios came in 2 flavors -
uhf low and uhf high - 400 to 420 for the feds - and - 450 to 470 for
locals
there might have been a time in the 1970s when vhf had 2 flavors - 150
to 160 mhz - and 160 mhz to 170 mhz - would not be surprised if philly
fd required special radios for 170.15 and 166.25
please correct me if wrong
also - tri band radios probably cost a boatload more than single band
radios - like $10,000 vs $25
