new orleans had a 3rd alarm fire today - maybe in a hotel

several time units in bld were unreadable

emergency alarms from HTs come up on "Dispatch 1' per the dispatcher

callsigns - Eng 29 - aka Engine 29 officer - engine 29 operator -
engine 29 firefighter

1106 am - Eng 9 reported heavy smoke on floor 2

1108 am - dispatcher asked if working fire - bc asked e9 - e9 said yes
- bc told dispatcher yes

1109 am - IC told dispatcher that IF he needed a 2nd alarm that
staging would be at X and Y - dispatcher said - OK you want a 2nd
alarm - IC said - no I said IF I want a 2nd alarm ....

1113 am - IC orders 2nd alarm - dispatcher says - what? - lol lol lol lol

emergency alarms went off twice in the first 10 minutes - both were
false apparently

dont believe me on any of this? just pull the tapes
