March 7 1975 - Arlington Mass - church fire photo

https://www.digitalcommonwealth.org/search/commonwealth:j9602640b

photo taken before the FD even arrived - and they were only 600 feet away

that might be the Route 3 beat cop clearing the intersection - he was
assigned to Arlington Center

painters were working at the building - building was a total loss

iirc the fire box at the church activated - and someone pulled the
fire box opposite the church - so the entire Arlington FD rolled at
once - 4 engines, 2 ladders, 1 rescue, 1 deputy chief - (usually it
was just 2 engines, 1 ladder, C2, and the Rescue on box alarms iirc)

E1 E4 L1 R1 C2 came from the station in Arlington Center

E2 L2 came from Highland Station 1 mile away

E3 came from Park Circle Station maybe 2 miles away

first engine ran a 1.5 inch line into the front door under the steeple
- but it was too late
