I noticed that the main street down near 186th st in manhattan /
harlem has a part time dedicated bus lane + times traffic lights - the
timed lights give a green every minute - the vehicle went thru approx
15 lights at 25 mph - and had a green light every time
so any emergency vehicle that has a broken siren can still travel at
25 mph with no stopping
google maps shows 7 miles harlem to freedom tower - at 34 minutes of
travel time iirc - emergency vehicles can probably do it in 10 minutes
in the middle of the night by using the limited access highway (? west
side parkway ?)
