self-motivated individual to fill the position of Emergency Services
Technician within our Battleground Plant located in La Porte, TX.


Description:

Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of
our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate
and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
Support and facilitate employee and contractor involvement in safety,
health, security, and emergency response systems.
Serve as or assist Incident Commander during emergency situations at
any of the five Houston area worksites.
Serve as central EOC coordinator when required during emergency situations.
Provide assistance to and serve as Team Leader of the Houston Strike
Team for transportation emergencies.
Coordinate required inspection, testing and repair of fire pumps,
sprinkler systems, deluge systems, post indicator valves and hydrants.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Preplans for Emergency
Response Team. Revise as needed.
Assist plant personnel with fixed fire system impairments and repairs.
Maintain existing emergency response equipment to ensure full
capabilities at all times.
Coordinate annual fire extinguisher inspections and fire hose testing.
Coordinate and/or provide required emergency response training for
plant and full time emergency response team members.
Coordinate annual fire school training and accommodations for
emergency response team members.
Represent five Houston area plants and work within the LEPC and CIMA
organizations.
Plan, execute and critique emergency response drills at the sites and
with local organizations.
Be on-call and prepared to respond to site emergencies and conduct
critiques of all emergencies.
Write, review and update lesson plans for all training conducted for
emergency services.
Ensure a positive and harassment free environment for all employees in
the work group. Also, strive to continuously improve the quality
process.
Perform IH sampling as required.
Participate in agency and/or company audits.


High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to successfully complete the physical requirements for
the Emergency Response Team and wear the appropriate uniform and/or
PPE as required.
Must be able to work a rotating shift.
Ability to be on-call; able to respond within 15-20 minutes to plant
emergencies; and able to respond to STRIKE team calls out of the area.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to obtain and keep current a CDL Class "A" driver's
license with Air Brakes and Hazmat Endorsement.
Must have minimum certification as a Texas Department of Health
Emergency Medical Technician – Basic.
Must be trained, maintain certifications and capable of being a STRIKE
team leader.
Must be able to perform duties as a training instructor for large and
small employee groups.
High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
Must be able to obtain a U. S. Passport.
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
Industrial Fire experience and Industrial Fire Certifications are preferred
