Re: boston marathon will be on monday april 18 2022

lets think about public safety comms for the marathon

1. each city and town controls public safety ops in their town ...
except maybe for a dozen state police motorcycles that escort the
elite runners ... and the state police helos and maybe some specialty
teams

2. most of the city and town race radio traffic can be handled on
existing main and 2ndary radio channels ... except that Boston only
has 1.5 2ndary police radio channels (Ch 1 and maybe Ch 7] ... we
suspect they do lots of comms on cell phones now .. which works fine
till SHTF

3. mutual aid radio channels are available for police and fire ..
MetroFire and Fire District 14 ... BApern 3 and 4 and W and Central
... most of these channels are held in reserve it seems

4. maybe the best plan is to make sure that the state police helo
responds immediately to any incident and starts to do a running
commentary on Bapern 3 or 4 or west or central

5. typically the UHF and 800/700 channels are patched together ...
this is mainly needed because Mass State police uses 800/700 and
everyone else uses UHF

6. the Interops channels should be alive ... 158.73 + Vcall + Ucall +
Icall ... maybe they are also held in reserve ... maybe 470.0125 also

7. ambulance mutual aid can maybe be done on Med 4 or BAMA ... maybe

8. the feds must be using their own channels and doing their own
things ... fbi ... fema .. dea ... cia ... dia ... starwars etc
