Early in the season, the office in Headquarters was broken into and a
new pickup was stolen. The perpetrator lead local authorities on a
high-speed chase before surrendering on the Greer Grade. Fortunately,
the vehicle was not damaged during the chase and the responsible
person was ordered to pay restitution. In late June, the Bertha Hill
Lookout was burglarized along with neighboring Forest Service
lookouts. Personal items, Association equipment and historical
information were stolen in the burglary. The irreplaceable historical
information included a visitor logbook dating back to the 1950s and
hand-drawn pictures of the surrounding terrain used to aid in fire
detection.

note - Headquarters is a place not a HQ - actually - it might be a
place and a HQ - iirc their present HQ is in Orofino - maybe their old
HQ is at the place now called "Headquarters"
