getting skip interference on UHF
city is broke
note - no one mentions that operating simplex in 100 story buildings is childish
note - if they already have 800T capability for all units as a full
backup to UHF - why do they need to spend another penny on radios?
note - if they want to add a few transportable radio receivers that
can feed onscene traffic back to the dispatch office - THAT would be a
brilliant expenditure - everything else is bullshit
note - where the hell is FirstNet?
note - Manhattan is wall to wall skyscrapers - and every skyscraper
typically has a security net and a mtnce net - and FDNY to this day
has absolutely no means to communicate on any of those radio systems -
only the BIGGEST blunder in all fire service history
