fire fire started at McDonalds at Gorman - the closest stations were -
with approx mileage - LAC 77 - 5 miles - 6 minutes - Kern Co 56 - 5
miles - 6 minutes - Kern Co 57 - 8 miles - 11 minutes - Chuchupate
Ranger Sta - 11 miles - 14 minutes - ANF Los Alamos Sta - 13 miles -
17 minutes - ANF Oak Flat Sta - 20 miles - 21 minutes - LA Co 149 - 27
miles - 28 minutes - Los Angeles County 78 - 31 miles - 35 minutes -
Los Angeles County 124 - 36 miles - 39 minutes - Los Angeles County
Sta 76 - 31 miles - 32 minutes - these are the first alarm units
almost gonna guess that some of the rigs were traveling faster than 60 mph
the units at Chuchupaite were possibly never sent on the first alarm -
even though they were only 10 miles away - that would be Los Padres
National Forest units - 1 or 2 engines - 1 handcrew maybe - 1 helo
with fly crew - maybe 1 tanker - and 1 or 2 chiefs
Apache Saddle Station on LPNF did not respond either - maybe - they
were 23 miles and 32 minutes away
Kern County Sta 55 did not respond and they were 17 miles and 21 minutes away
Kern County 58 was 21 miles and 27 minutes away - they did not respond
on the first alarm - maybe
Ventura County Sta 16 was 19 miles and 26 minutes away - but maybe
they just have 1 or 2 people on duty
bootom line - the fire got away from them and burnt all the way to
pyramid lake - but maybe just 2 blds burnt
however - Tanker 910 and Tanker 911 got sucked into fighting the fire
- so they were not available to go to New Mexico - maybe - nad maybe
over 500 homes have burnt all ready in Ruidoso NM
