Inoperable ARFF Vehicle Procedures
a. If the primary ARFF vehicle becomes inoperable to the extent it
cannot perform its required functions, the backup vehicle shall be
used to maintain Index B requirements;
b. Should both vehicles become out of service, the Airport Executive
Director or designee will notify the FAA Airport's District Office. If
replacement equipment is unavailable, the Airport Executive Director
or designee will close ARA to air carrier operations after 48 hours
and a NOTAM will be issued.
ARFF Vehicle Response Capabilities during Air Carrier Operations
a. At least one ARFF vehicle is capable of responding from the ARA
Fire Station to the mid-point of Runway 17/35 within 3 minutes from
the time of the alarm, and initiating the discharge of extinguishing
agent;
b. All other ARFF vehicles are capable of responding from the ARA Fire
Station to the mid-point of Runway 17/35 within 4 minutes from the
time of the alarm and initiating the discharge of extinguishing agent;
c. ARFF vehicle responses are in compliance with FAR Part 139.39(h).
