Verizon users reported widespread outages on Wednesday afternoon.

The telecommunications company acknowledged the outage on social media.

"We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services
for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and are working to
identify and solve the issue quickly," the statement read. "We
understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for
the inconvenience."

According to Downdetector, at 12:42 p.m. ET, about 180,000 users
reported experiencing issues with Verizon's services.
