https://www.sciencedirect.com/org/science/article/pii/S2047089420000054 in short 2010 - new national fire law passed 2014 - FDs merged into 25 zones - each has 1 fire chief who reports to a board of local mayors - requirement for 6 man engines to respond within 8 minutes lack of vols - failing to respond apparently - 2 man engines implemented or proposed =================== based on what we see by creating the new zerg90 map - nothing much has changed - there are still 80% paid on call firefighters - fire stations are still 3 air miles apart on average - each station has at least 1 full size engine (? TS6 ?) very few combination stations (staffed by vols and pros) we need to find better info somewhere - do they still aim for 6 man engines in 8 minutes? something tells me that they would melt down if they ever allowed an engine to roll with a crew of one
