how about this for wildfire radio ops

plane arrives over fire - activates onboard repeater - plane circles
the fire till it runs out of gas or pilot dies of old age

onboard repeater is used to give good HT to HT comms on the fire - all
HTs have a secondary receiver on the input channel - the 2ndary
receiver activates when it has better audio quality than the repeater
output channel - or when the airplane repeater leaves the scene

or how about this - plane shows up at fire - they toss a repeater out
the window and it lands in a tree high over the fire scene - repeater
cost $100 since it is based on a Pi3 computer and 2 SDR dongles

after the fire is out - some bear climbs the tree and eats the
repeater - no one cares - its only $100
