san diego area info - fire departments

escondido fd has ambs staffed by 2 people - 1 is ff/pm - other is non
safety/PM - 4 amb are staffed like this - 1 other amb is staffed by 2
non safety PMs (ie non firefighter paramedics)

(?) solano beach has a shared chief / admin with 2 other FDs

san diego county sta 84 is staffed by san diego city firefighters

Cal Fire has 12 month stations at Campo, Dulzura, Lyons Valley, and
Warner Springs - some Cal Fire Stations close in winter - some Cal
Fire stations stay open in winter using county funds (Amador Plan)

Deers Springs FPD contracts for a CDF Batt Chief who serves as Deer
Springs FD Chief - they also contract for approx 31 cdf firefighters -
they have 3 stations - there is also an admin clerk but I am not sure
who signs her checks - county gives Deer Springs $800,000 per year to
cover some county areas - Deer Springs pays $ to County for some
reserve firefighters - Deer Springs pays CDF to keep the West Lilac
CDF station open in winter - funding is very complex

some of the lafco info I was looking at might be contradictory - but
the bottom line is - every fire station in the county is now staffed
with at least 2 people yearround - except - some cdf stations close in
winter - usfs stations close at night and in winter (mostly) - most
stations have fire service paramedic / firefighters - there might be
less than 5 stations staffed solely by oncall staff now - maybe just 1
actually (at Rainbow) - county has 70 reserve FFs iirc - these are the
only "on call" firefighters now afaik
