I think the way this works is - there is one person at the Park who is
designated as the Fire Management Officer - it might be a yearround
fulltime position - this person deals with wildfire issues - there is
another person who is designated as the Park (Structural) Fire Chief -
this might be a part time / dual hat position - probably held by one
of the senior park rangers - the wildland fire units are staffed by
dedicated seasonal staff - the structural units are staffed by park
staff (usually mtnce and rangers) who have structural fire training -
I suspect that in the winter the wildland engines might also get used
for structural firefighting - and vice versa - I bet that the
structural engines respond to summer wildfires that are near roadways
they all share the same radio channel - and the same dispatcher - maybe
not sure who handles extrication at car crashes or hazmat
EMS is probably handled by rangers who have EMS training - the park
might have 3 ambulances scattered around the park
