listening to the "State" TG over recent days via OpenMhz
Air 3 flies from Lawrence
Air 5 flies from Plymouth
comms work well on this channel - all messages are loud and clear and
no one seems to have any problems communicating (as far as the radio
system is concerned - their message handling procedures seem to be OK
also)
helios go up on patrol with crews of 2 - on a search mission in Lowell
a crew of 3 was used
Ar Bases maintain a watch over the helos - seems to be hourly checks -
helo will answer with "R9" if all is well
Air Bases heard - Plymouth - Lawrence - Westover
other Stations heard - "G" aka 'G HQ" or "Station G" - also - "Station A"
one helo was heard testing video - seems they were sending the video
to the "Watch Center" - the "Watch Center" was not heard on the
channel - I think that Sta G was relaying traffic from the helo to the
Watch Center - "Logan Channel 12" was mentioned in regards to video -
also "Channel 11" and "Wachusetts" - Westover Air Base maybe was
having trouble receiving the video
(this all seems to be very typical for the State TG - even going back
10 or 20 years - not much seems to have changed)
