public safety division
admin and support 43 FTE
FD 79 FTE includes 42 FTE for lifeguards and 37 FTE for FD
police 71 FTE

Ops Division ...307 ops FTE + 93 recreation FTE + 88 mtnce FTE

Fleet Mgmt Services services 858 units (vehicles]

Eagle 7 and Eagle 8 are helicopters

FD has 9 locations, 12 engines, 2 water tenders ... Station 1 at
Tilden park is the main station ... FD has career staff and paid on
call staff ... paid on call staff are park district employees who
serve (when needed] as "industrial" firefighters .. FD is trained for
structural, wildfire, vehicle, low angle rescue, hazmat, etc ... FD
has 1 Chief + 1 Assistant Chief + 2 Captains + 5 Lieutenants + 8 FF2 +
14 fuels crew + 6 clerical / admin / planning + (unknown number of
paid on call staff ... maybe around 50 or 80 ]

on park website there is some good FD info .. station 1 is staffed
daily ... during daylight hours 7 days each week ... they have 4 ty3
engines and 6 ish ty6 engines and 2 water tenders + 1 oes engine + 2
small boats + 1 gator

the 2 helos always fly with bambi buckets ... they can put together a
helitac crew for the helo also

the park dispatch center is at the park public safety hq ... they are
a 911 psap that covers 2 counties ....this info is on their website
... iirc the dispatchers are under the public safety admin function
... maybe 10 dispatchers in total ... I guess they get 911 calls
directly from a couple of cell sites in the parks
