"That is an incredible adventure that your family will never forget.
Your truck was high centered, so what you could have done with the
scissor jack that is designed to only lift 1 tire off the ground and
not the whole rear end of the truck, was to slide it under 1 wheel at
a time and jack up that wheel enough to put a large rock under the
tire, then lower it and repeat the process at each corner of the
truck. Lifting the bumper only raises the body and not the axle, so
that is why the jack broke and why it did not aid in your recovery."
