if you listened to the radio tape you know what injuries she suffered
and how - iirc in Psyche 101 in 1976 we were taught that sometimes
people have a "psychotic break" - you will see news reports from
neighbors and friends who say that the person was totally normal - and
then they just loose it - and kill a bunch of people - this must be a
very well known phenomena / situation among psychiatrists
