note - this is not a town or city or military base - this is a
economic development zone operated by "Massachusetts Development
Finance Agency" - we took that name directly out of the RFP above
so the FD name should be Radio Free Devens FD or MDFA EDZ Devens FD
not sure how common this is across the USA - Otis AFB on Cape Cod now
has a state FD - Loring AFB in Maine has a local FD substation iirc -
not sure whats up at Brunswick NAS in Maine - South Weymouth NAS is
still vacant land afaik - some other closed military bases across the
USA have active fire stations - not exactly sure who operates them -
it would be whoever the military turned the land over to - but that
might vary from location to location - iirc Plattsburgh AFB in NY is
now protected by a County FD - yup - clinton county ny owns and
operates Plattsburgh Int Airport - https://www.airnav.com/airport/KPBG
https://www.airnav.com/airport/KSEM - craig field - selma al - now
operated by CRAIG FLD ARPT & IND AUTH
https://www.airnav.com/airport/KFMH - interesting - old otis afb on
cape cod is owned by coast guard - maybe - lol
south weymouth naval air sta near boston is no longer listed at airnav
- runways might be torn up
https://www.airnav.com/airport/KBXM - former brunswick nas in maine is
now owned and managed by the MIDCOAST RGNL REDEVELOPMENT AUTH - maybe
they pay for a brunswick fd sub station - maybe not - no arff index
listed for the field
https://www.airnav.com/airport/ME16 - fomrer Loring AFB is now owned
and managed by the LORING DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY - no arff index is
listed - maybe limestone fd has a sub sta there
