but if you do just a little research -
sipyasik ambulance / pleasant point ambulance is / was located between
the town of perry and the city of eastport - sipyasik ambulance had 1
or 2 fulltime ambulances based at the health clinic on the
PleasantPoint Passamaquoddy Indian Reservation - Eastport is covered
by a fulltime DownEast ambulance (or two) stationed at Eastport Fire
Station 1 - Perry has its own VFD and pays $30K to DownEast Amb
annually
Perry population - 1,000
Pleasant Point Indian Reservation - maybe 1,000 population
Eastport population - 1,000
The DownEast ambulance have to drive right thru the Indian Reservation
to get to Perry - it is 7 miles from Eastport to Perry - over a 30 or
45 mph road approx
to recap - 3,000 total population - 2 to 4 fulltime ambulances
on the other hand - there are not alot of backup ambulances in the
area - and very few hospitals
