Kern County Fire Department - radio ops - California
seems that KERN 1 is the primary channel - apparently all dispatching
is done on this channel
some or all units have MDTs
there might be a separate paging channel - maybe not
there does seem to be some paging done on KERN 1 - or on some channel
that is covered by the Kern County Fire feed at Broadcastify
all of the other radio channels seem to be used as response / onscene
/ fireground channels
maybe all minor calls are handled on KERN 1 - but any major calls are
moved to a 2ndary channel as soon as the call is dispatched - ie - the
car crash today was assigned KERN 4 on the initial dispatch - and all
response and onscene comms was done on the KERN 4 radio repeater
channel - all comms came thru the feed and were pretty clear - except
that Company 25 had a crappy radio and was cutting out randomly
KERN 1 = 153.785
KERN 4 = ? 154.86 R
Mercy 15 medevac helicopter is dispatched on KERN 1
the dispatcher is called "ECC"
so basically it is a very simple system
