Interesting the difference between US and GB. Our hydrants are above
ground. Our attack line are about the size of their supply lines.
Their attack lines are much smaller but they appear to be charged all
the time. Seems like you could get water on the fire a lot faster with
an attack line that is always charged.

In the UK most trucks have hosereels that are connected directly to
the appliance and can be used (almost) immediately as seen, but we
then have three (although two commonly used in 45 and 70 mm) layflat
sizes that can be used for moving water from a hydrant to a pump and
from a pump delivery to a branch and on to the fire.
