iirc the lawrence mayor also faced criminal corruption charges
lawrence and methuen are adjacent
there were several radio licenses that seemed to show each community
being assigned the radio channels of the other community - both police
and fire - not for coordination purposes - for the purpose of swapping
channels apparently - never made any sense that we could discern -
over the last dozen or so years
unsure at this time if methuen fd is on 154.01R or UHF - they should
have left 154.01R years ago and left that as a FG channel for Lowell
and Lawrene and Haverhill - in the 1970s and 1980s - 154.01 was the
primary fire radio channel for Lowell + Methuen + Haverhill +
Groveland + Georgetown + West Newbury - Lowell moved to 154.205R -
Haverhill moved to 154.3625R + 151.295R - Groveland moved to maybe ???
- Georgetown moved to 154.325R - West Newbury moved to ??? - Methuen
seemed to move to UHF but kept it patched to 154.01R for some crazy
reason maybe
