Consideration of Regional Public Safety Dispatch After a study and
visitation of three existing regional emergency call centers, it is
recommended that Sherborn join the Holbrook Regional Emergency
Communications Center. This will relieve officers from desk duty,
improving retention. Additionally, residents who call 911 will be
connected to professionally trained dispatchers. Year 1 cost to join
the communications center is $295,000 rising to $332,026 by year 5.
The costs will be 100% covered by an anticipated State Development
Grant to be submitted by the Holbrook Center. Year 4 costs will be 50%
covered by the grant, and year 5, 25% covered.
