1. activate all 8 MAFFS tankers right now and base them west of the
mississippi river
2. double all of the FD budgets right now - or pay the price in total
reeking / reaking destruction
3, whenever there is a red flag warning - staff every mobile fire
truck - bring in 500 or 1,000 fire engines from east of the
Missisiippi River - staff every aircraft that can be found
4. soak down all the trees in the interface zone 6 hours before the
start of the red flag - maybe use retardant from aircraft - paint
everything that can be painted before the fires start
5. do evacuations before the fires start - just like the hurricane
evacuations in Florida
6. flood the interface with cops - shoot to kill for arsonists - not kidding
7. kill the power - we know this works - see the last 5 years
8. send some arff trucks and industrial fire trucks to the big
wildfires - have them operate 6,000 GPM fog patterns - hose down whole
neighborhoods on the fly - kill all embers for miles
9. put 50% of fire engines on ember patrol - dont do the 'hit and run'
firefighting and then leave the neighborhoods to burn to smithereens 6
hours later - you would have to be exceedingly stupid to do that -
AGAIN
10. talk to the water department before the fires break out - have
double and triple redundancy for all major components of the water
supply system
11. designate ONE person as the state fire chief - this person will
have direct dispatch authority over every firefighting asset in the
state - even the oligarchs fire trucks - even the military fire trucks
- even the industrial fire trucks - even the race track fire trucks -
its all hands on deck - unless you want to lose 100,000 more homes -
its up to you
